Word Study -
Wordly Wise Lesson 5 (15 words) see packet in folder
***Your child's vocabulary words will be located in the Vocabulary pocket of their spiral. Check Schoology for the list of words and Quizlet activities for review.
Below are the words that your child is learning in the weekly Wordly Wise® vocabulary lessons. Please post the list in your home where everyone can see it and look for ways to include the words in conversations with your child.
Try these activities to give your child more practice:
•Tell each other real or imagined stories that include the words.
•Talk about the words when you hear them used or see them in storybooks, on signs and posters, or elsewhere.
•Use the words to play games such as “I’m Thinking of a Word,” in which you give each other clues about a word and then try to guess the word.
•Invite your child to write stories or poems in which they use the words, or have them create drawings or picture cards that illustrate the words’ meanings. Encourage your child to share other interesting words he or she encounters, and discuss interesting words you hear. Above all, have fun with words.
Students will be tested every 2 weeks.
